The Pentagon makes the announcement even as the U.S. continues ceasefire negotiations.
The Pentagon reported that Secretary of State Antony Blinken has approved the potential sale of F-15 jets, tank cartridges, army vehicles, and equipment to Israel. The possible sale is worth more than $20 billion. Some of the items would be available immediately while others would be produced and delivered over years.
The U.S. continues to encourage a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. U.S. officials are also engaging in diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions with Iran after that nation threatened a retaliatory strike against Israel after a high-level Hamas leader was assassinated. France, Germany, and the United Kingdom have also called on Iran and allies to “refrain from attacks that would further escalate regional tensions and jeopardize the opportunity to agree (to) a cease-fire and the release of hostages.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for U.S. diplomats as they encourage a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
- For U.S. and allied officials as they endeavor to de-escalate tensions with Iran.
